25-year-old singer/songwriter/guitarist looking to start a project. I started writing just over 10 years ago and have written well over a hundred songs now. I'd love to finally get started with it. I guess you can call my style country - As in my influences are mainly country and my writing usually fits in with country themes, but I like to add a good dose of rock-infused distortion and melancholy. I'm looking for a drummer diverse enough to nail any rock or country sound, a gifted lead guitarist who suffers from separation anxiety when his axe isn't in clear sight, and a relentless bassist with a serious penchant for gettin' a groove on. Gigs would include classic rock and country, and perhaps whatever else we think of that might add the right flavor to our dish. Covers first, then slowly add originals as we go. Gotta give the people what they want before they're ready to hear something new. Oh and you gotta have harmonies. So hopefully one or two of you guys can sing. Hell, I don't even have to be the frontman. If you're a better guitarist AND singer than me, that's cool. I'll do the rhythm and harmonies. I just wanna crank it up good 'n' loud for the people. Oh and it's a lot better if you show up to practices and gigs without glazed eyes or the inability to walk and talk. Speakin' of which, enough talkin'. we are a hard rock band in need of a kick ass singer. male or female, ages 18-26 27ish . open to cowriting as long as you dont mind singing songs that are already written. must be a team player, reliable, with no butthead attitude or ego. we dont do drugs or play drunk or half in the bag. we all have respect for each others talents and like to laugh and joke around, so a sense of humour is relatively important. again, we are a hard rock heavy-ish band. we are not a screamo/metal core/metal band. . not that there is anything wrong with those genres, we just need a singer who can sing straight ahead hard rock. just to clarify. if this sounds ok, we have recorded samples of the songs i can send you. so if you rock and are not a flake, and someone who shows up for practices, what are you waiting for? lets rock out after breakfast! actually monday evenings and weekends work for us. plans to head right into the studio as soon as the vocalist is added. lets turn it up to 11. thanks take care! reply to <sorrymeansnothing@@@hotmail.com>

Solid Drummer looking for collaborator to start a project. I am currently 38. Played/recorded live rock originals since I was sixteen. Had to take time off to raise my daughter. Now all of my weekends are open. My drumming style is simple. Less is more. I gravitate to beat/tom orientated drummers like John Bohnam or Matt Cameron rather than the cymbal happy variety. Musician working under own name (www.scotthinkson.com) for the last few years with varying degrees of success (TV/commerical placements, college and commercial radio in Canada, Power 97 Class of 2008 winner) and overall have done well with my own tunes and making my own records. However, I feel I need something different and need to work with different people in a band setting again to become a better musician and try different sounds.
What I would really like at this point is something full of many vocal melodies or vocalists (Fleet Foxes, Arcade Fire, Florence and the Machine) as singing has really become something that is really important to me in the bands I seem to gravitate to these days. Ideally, I'd like to form a group of musicians that could all (or mostly) pitch in vocally to such a sound, maybe with a rotating set of lead singers. I tend to lean on the darker side of neutral sonically, but am looking to break out of whatever patterns.

I'm a bass player who's been playing nearly 6 years and take my playing very seriously. I'm looking for a band or group of people willing to jam. I play a lot of everything but I enjoy slapping, funk, rock, alternative/rock and my favourtie band is RedHotChiliPeppers so my play style is influenced very much by Flea. I like their older stuff for the fast paced slapping and funk and the newer stuff for the more relaxed, calm feeling. Jazz and Blues are really fun too and I practice those but to a lesser extent.
